- Best waiting-to-exhale moment (sans words)…Adrien Brody at the end of “The Pianist” (Roman Polanski, U.K. et al., 2002), when he plays the piano for an audience of one.

- Strangest “separated at birth” moment II…Mike Myers as Goldmember in “Austin Powers in Goldmember” (Jay Roach, 2002) looks like Bill Murray, another “Saturday Night Live” alumnus.

- Most unexpected images of a city’s skyline…“Winged Migration” (Jacques Cluzaud, Michel Debats, France et al., 2001/2002).

- Most wasted sequels/prequels…“Star Wars: Episodes I and II” (George Lucas, 1999/2002).

- Risky product placement…FedEx in “Cast Away” (Robert Zemeckis, 2000).

- Strangest “separated at birth” moment I…when Joseph Fiennes kisses Gwyneth Paltrow in “Shakespeare in Love” (John Madden, U.S./U.K., 1998), it’s like watching Prince make out with Dave Foley (“NewsRadio,” “The Kids in the Hall”), whom Fiennes and cross-dressing Paltrow resemble, respectively.

- Most creative way to off a monster…“Alien Resurrection” (Jean-Pierre Seunet, 1997).

- Most diverse series…the four “Alien” pictures (1979-1997).

- Most popular composer…Randy Edelman (“Dragonheart,” “Gettysburg,” “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story”), whose scores are frequently used to advertise other movies and TV programs.

- Best waiting-to-exhale moment (with words)…Emma Thompson at the end of “Sense and Sensibility” (Ang Lee, U.S./U.K., 1995), when she lets her family have it.

- Best commercial for a stinker…the trailer for “Species” (Roger Donaldson, 1995).

- Most annoying American accent by an American actor…Rob Morrow’s New England accent in “Quiz Show” (Robert Redford, 1994).

- Most haunting voice (non-horror)…an answering machine at the end of “In the Line of Fire” (Wolfgang Petersen, 1993).

- Actor most likely to do it on screen with his clothes on…Jeremy Irons (“M. Butterfly,” “Damage,” “The Mission,” “The French Lieutenant’s Woman”).

- Most interesting use for a handkerchief…“Lovers” (Vicente Aranda, Spain, 1991/1992).

- Most haunting shot (non-horror)…a boy’s exit at the end of “Au Revoir les Enfants” (Louis Malle, France, 1987).
